![]() Our Queer Under Coronavirus series documents how the pandemic is changing LGBTQ+ lives. These 15 films and shows will distract you and instill hope during the crisis. Quarantining away from your partner? We asked therapists how to cope. Gay… rights? How the coronavirus is changing queer lives By now you’re thinking, “excuse me?” And you’re also thinking, “What does this have to do with sad isolated lesbians?” It’s more like sad, isolated queer people, from Joe and his multiple husbands to his trans employee, Saff, who suffered an enormous tragedy while working on the animal farm (I won’t spoil). Joe Exotic, now a convicted felon, once ran an exotic animal park, before launching a blood feud with his arch nemesis-slash-animal rights “activist” Carole Baskin, which led to him being gay/doing crimes. Even though “show about Oklahoma man-turned exotic cat wrangler-turned presidential candidate-turned prison lifer” sounds extremely like straight culture, the man in question, the Tiger King, is a gay man. I’m not thrilled about recommending this Netflix true crime docu-series, which doesn’t not make light of animal abuse, but hear me out. This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.
